WASHINGTON, DC - The Business Software Alliance (BSA) announced in a press release the appointment of Tim Molino, former Chief Counsel to Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), to Director, Government Relations. Tim will lead BSA’s government outreach efforts in the US Senate. Molino will represent the software industry’s interests in bolstering intellectual property protections, spurring technology innovation, and opening new markets, among other priorities.

“We are thrilled to have Tim on board,” said BSA Vice President of Government Relations Katherine McGuire. “He brings a great deal of experience working on a wide range of issues important to BSA’s member companies — from intellectual property to privacy, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. His expertise across the spectrum of issues before the Judiciary and Commerce committees is a valuable asset. He brings strong legal skills to BSA at an exciting time as the US Patent and Trademark Office begins implementation of the Patent Reform Act of 2012.”

Prior to advising Sen. Klobuchar, Molino served as a legal fellow on the Senate Judiciary Committee for Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wisc.) and as an intellectual property and antitrust attorney at the law firm Bingham McCutchen.

A member of the Bar in Washington, DC and Virginia, Molino holds a law degree from Washington & Lee University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Mary Washington.

The Business Software Alliance is the leading global advocate for the software industry. It is an association of nearly 100 world-class companies that invest billions of dollars annually to create software solutions that spark the economy and improve modern life.
