WASHINGTON - Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC (PRT), announced today in a press release that they have been awarded Patent #8206783 by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

This patent is focused on methods that provide enhanced cleaning and lining of smaller diameter pipes. The patent gives ePIPE coverage for the use of their system which provides enhanced evacuation of dust and other debris when cleaning, allowing the pipe to be lined in a more consistent manner.

Enhanced dust and debris removal assists in obtaining better adhesion of the lining to the pipe wall. This patent covers pipes used to carry potable water, natural gas, fire sprinkler systems and drains.

“Our research and development team are proud of our ongoing innovation program and this accomplishment. Focusing on commercializing smart innovative green solutions is part of our “Made in America” philosophy. This patent, added to our existing portfolio of patents and IP supports us in this pursuit” said Larry Gillanders, CEO.

The ACE DuraFlo®, ePIPE® team has been twice nominated for the US National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

The National Medal of Technology and Innovation is the highest honor for technological achievement bestowed by the President of the United States on America's leading innovators.

Supporters of the ePIPE nomination for this honor included Dr. Marc Edwards, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Virginia Tech. Dr. Edwards has been honored by the White House with a National Science Foundation Presidential Faculty Fellowship.

The patented ePIPE process involves restoring pipes in-place, with an application of an epoxy barrier coating resulting in a restored epoxy lined piping system.
