PARIS - With the significant growth of the Arabic language on the Internet, efforts are being taken to support the Arabic language and provide tools to use the Arabic content. Therefore, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is working in cooperation with the Internet Society (ISOC) and UNESCO on developing a new glossary of Internet Governance for Arabic speakers.

This attainment considered as tool enabling Arabic-speaking communities to participate actively in multistakeholders Internet Governance processes. Moreover, the Arabic-speaking Internet users will have the opportunity to engage in various platforms of multistakeholers policy-making processes, such as the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) and Internet Governance Forum (IGF), by dint of the new glossary.

This project is the result of an integrated team of regional professional organizations working in the field of language policy development and Internet Governance. Besides, the project will bring together multiple stakeholders to provide an assistance to develop the terms of the glossary.

Based on its commitment to assist and support international organizations, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) joined efforts on the revision of the content of the new Arabic glossary.
