AMMAN -HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of the Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra), announced the first event of the Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra), a nonprofit national initiative established in cooperation with the King Hussein Foundation’s National Music Conservatory.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the headquarters of the National Music Conservatory attended by local and regional media representatives.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said that the concert, which will be held under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein, will be attended by music and art lovers alike, and will serve as a foundation for more programs to be held inside and outside of Jordan. The event will take place in the Al Hussein Cultural Center in Ras Al Ein.

He continued, revealing that many future projects will be under study and adoption, and that during the coming stages, part of the mission will be to focus on spreading this high art.

He added that the Association is a non-profit national initiative driven by social responsibility, which involves a small, motivated group of people who are interested in developing the arts in Jordan, especially music.

Ms. Hana Shahin, Executive Director of the King Hussein Foundation, praised Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for his chairing of the Association, which is honorarily headed by HM Queen Noor, saying: “We are proud and pleased to have a figure who believes so strongly in the importance and the message of culture and art. The Association is to live out Her Majesty's vision when she established the National Music Conservatory.

We aim to create a musical movement that we can be proud of all over the world.”

Maestro Mohammad Saddik said that the Orchestra was established in 1988 by young people, and presented its first professional production in a concert held by the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) during its silver anniversary celebration in 1995.

“The advance of the Orchestra continued until 2011,” he added, “and today we are celebrating its restoration and re-launch, through which we will strive to make professional musicians, not just professions of music.”

It is worth mentioning that the Association aims to place Jordan on the world map for its music and to promote its musical productions. Through this initiative, JOrchestra hopes to provide job opportunities for Jordanian musicians, enhance innovation and cultural exchange, and contribute to the development of the tourism sector by organizing various seasonal programs of art activities, augmented by the enchanting historical sites in the city of Amman and the suburbs.
