BCEC Announces the Final Slate of ICANN Board Director Candidates Selected by the At-Large Community

LOS ANGELES - The optional Regional At-Large Organization (RALO) petition process in the ICANN Board Director selection did not result in a successful petition to add names to the Board Candidate Evaluation Committee (BCEC) Slate of Candidates and this stage of the process has now concluded, according to ICANN.

As such, the Final Slate of Candidates, who were selected by the BCEC and will go forward to the next stage of the selection process organized by the Board Member Selection Process Committee (BMSPC), are (listed in alphabetical order of the last name):

Alan Greenberg (Canada)
Leon Felipe Sanchez Ambia (Mexico)

Next Steps

In the coming weeks, before the start of the final election, the BMSPC will organize activities and mechanisms that facilitate interactions between the At-Large Community Members and the Final Slate of Candidates. The methods of interaction will incorporate input from ALAC Members, RALO members, and the Final Slate of Candidates themselves. The BMSPC will announce the planned interactions in due course.

In accordance with the selection timeline, the first round of voting in the final election will be initiated on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Any internal RALO decision making processes, such as confirming the electorates and directing RALO Chairs' votes in the final election, should be conducted and completed before 21 February. The selection process is planned to be completed by Friday, April 21, 2017, with the announcement of the successful Candidate on that date.
