LOS ANGELES - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced that the Pandemic Internet Access Reimbursement Program continues for ICANN74. The ICANN74 Policy Forum is being held June 13–16, 2022, a press release stated by ICANN.

How to Apply
The application process is now open. Those who meet the eligibility requirements will be able to participate.

The deadline for applications is Friday, 27 May 2022, at 23:59 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

As ICANN74 will be a hybrid meeting, only applicants who attend virtually are eligible for this program.

Background

The Pandemic Internet Access Reimbursement Program aims to facilitate the participation in ICANN Public Meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic. It offers community members who have limited Internet capacity financial assistance to increase their Internet bandwidth.

Leaders from the three ICANN Supporting Organizations, four Advisory Committees, four stakeholder groups, five Generic Names Supporting Organization constituencies, and five Regional At-Large Organizations of the At-Large Advisory Committee will have the opportunity to nominate a limited number of program recipients. They will focus on members who are actively engaged in the ICANN community but may not have previously been eligible to apply.

Reimbursements of up to US$60 will be provided to eligible applicants who purchase additional Internet bandwidth (capacity or data limits) for the duration of the month or billing cycle for June 2022. The services must be rendered by a business entity or Internet service provider, specifically for Internet or cellular data service. The provider must also provide digital or paper documentation of the upgrade costs.
