AMMAN - A new academic era is set to be introduced through a corporate global virtual university which will take e-education to a whole new level.

A team of 40 experts in education, e-solutions, training and business met under the umbrella of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) to establish the University of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh (UTAG), the first global digital business university of its kind in the world.

The University is the brainchild of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, TAG-Org chairman and CEO who recognized a need for an educational body that can provide superior educational programs tailored towards individuals, whether in the region or anywhere in the world.

To achieve its goal, a task force of academic professionals is building the foundational procedures to create a timeline to establish the institution by the end of 2012.

This is the first business model for a corporate virtual university with special programs designed in business, management, information technology and languages. The University will be truly global with easy and secure registration, comfortable online procedures and professional staff, gifted scholars, thought-leaders and professors who are leaders in their field.

UTAG will utilize the successful educational programs applied at the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Business University in Bahrain, the German Jordanian University, training programs and TAG-Confucius Chinese Language Centre.
It will provide a variety of educational programs virtually, focusing on Business, IT, Management, Islamic Financing among others. These include academic degrees, professional certificates and language diplomas.

With a special focus on languages, UTAG promises a complete range of training programs to cover Arabic, English and Chinese.

The University will sign cooperation agreements with education and quality examination centers throughout the world for all programs it provides.

In addition, UTAG will virtually operate through TAG-Org’s own e-cloud as well as on the ground through academic partnerships with pioneering universities and institutes all through the organization's 70 offices, centers and correspondents covering Asia, Africa, South America and Eastern Europe.

Fulfilling its Corporate Social Responsibility in education, TAG-Org will also establish a specialized educational News Agency called TAG Education to work alongside Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Information Technology International news agencies.
